Albion Orchestra: Scheherazade

  • St. Gabriel's, Pimlico Warwick Square, Pimlico London, England, SW1V 2AD United Kingdom (map)

Join the Albion Orchestra at St Gabriel’s, Pimlico for an evening of exploration and storytelling. The performance opens with Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2, a work that balances lyrical grace with rhythmic vitality, showcasing the composer’s distinctive melodic voice. We are privileged to be joined by violinist Esther Yoo in this performance.

For the final work of the programme, hear the Albion Orchestra perform Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade with narrations by Theia Charles and John Fleming. A monumental setting of One Thousand and One Nights, Scheherazade tells the story of Sultan Shahryar abandoning his murderous ways, captivated by his bride’s stories.
